Ryan requested an S*Caster reminiscent of the famous John Frusciante's
of Red Hot Chili Peppers fame. I was more than happy to oblige. We started with a nice resonant piece of Alder for his body which ended up right at about 3.8 lbs.
It was then finished in Revelator's own 3 tone early 1960's style Sunburst nitrocellulose lacquer complete with yellow dye undercoat.
For his neck he chose a standard 1960's era "C" profile with vintage radius and frets. The rosewood I obtained is jet black true to 1962. This is a fine playing & really comfortable neck. I installed and aged the real clay dots as is my habit here at Rev. Ryan selected a set of Fender Custom Shop Fat '50 pickups with hand beveled, staggered, Alnico 5 magnets and formvar wire on the coils for his tone center. A great choice on this axe, these pickups sound real sweet and bell like clean and distort with a super smooth yet somewhat nasty response. The guts, as usual, are nothin but the good stuff CTS, CRL, & Switchcraft. Massive mounts of tour style playing wear complete this obscenely toneful piece. This job was extremely labor intensive, but overall, well worth the effort. Thanks Ry,..................Mighty E
