I cant believe how many people have outright wanted to buy this Tele.. I just keep sending them to your page. I may be in the market for an S real soon. How's the ordering status now? Hope your keeping busy. Peace, Sean Loether WWW.SEANLOETHER.COM WWW.MYSPACE.COM/SEANLOETHER Oh yeah,. the guitar floored my bandmates at practice the other night! E, I just my T*Caster for three hours and I have to tell you it's the best guitar I've played in years. It feels just like the old vintage guitars that I lost. It just flat screams. Its resonates and feels so good. It's just perfect. Thank you Eric and God bless, Randy Knight M.T. from NY Mighty E. Got the Tele body earlier this week, but did not get a chance to open up the package until last night. Yes, the stun-o-meter blew right through the top! This body looks like something that Fender built in the late fifties or early sixties. And I have to jokingly ask – is this thing hollowed out basswood!? Just kidding. I know it’s Swamp Ash. That is the lightest body I have ever felt. I am going to find a perfect neck for it, and then freak out all my guitar buds. No one is going to believe me that it isn’t an orig 50s/60s guitar. My man, you are THE STUFF !!!! I can’t say enough good about your dedication to the “old school” techniques and quality. I am already saving my $ for another perfect body. No need to apologize for the wait. Truthfully, I would have worried if the body would have been done when originally promised. I like the fact that you take your time and don’t let this stuff out the door until it is just right. Those are the true “craftsmen” that I search hi and low for! Regards, Joe Murillo Scottsdale AZ E, Just wanted to thank you for two beautifully crafted axes and I look forward to more doing biz w/ you. Hope you are doing well. I love both of these things for different reasons. Man, they play better every day! Thanks Again!!!! Nigel P.
The ’55 “S” that Eric built for me is by far the best “S” that I’ve ever played. This guitar is a birthday present to myself, since I was born in ’55 and wanted to reward myself for making it this long. I asked for some personally preferred specs, such as a fat neck, 0.86 thick at the first fret. stainless steel 6105 frets, 9.5 radius, a sunburst finish without too much black on the edges, and a one-piece swamp ash body with nice grain. I even sent him a few pics of some genuine 55’s that had the look I was after. I wanted the guitar to look like it belonged to someone that only played it once a week for the last 50 years, with light aging. I decided that I would naturally provide the neck and elbow wear over the years to come. I provided the pickups that Benny at Truetone make for me, hand wound just like they did in ’55, to get that chimey vintage tone I couldn’t get out of other "S" guitars I had previously owned. When the guitar arrived, after I opened the box and dug through all the styrofoam eggs and bubble wrap, I was totally floored. The finish had exactly the look that I wanted, the hardware looked just right, the swamp ash grain looked great, and the neck joint was super tight. I was even more amazed after I took it out of the box and plugged it in to my ’63 Princeton. It’s very light and resonant, the setup and fret work are right on the money and the tone is as vintage and chimey as you could possibly get, with tons of natural sustain. Check out the photos on his website, http://www.revelatorguitarworks.com/1955burststratocasterZ.html they don’t do justice to this beauty. I have to thank Eric for all the work he did in building my dream guitar. He paid attention to every detail, and kept in touch with me throughout the process to make sure it turned out right. The price was much less than one would expect to pay for a custom built guitar of this quality. Eric is a true artist and a gentleman, he is like a master tailor making you a custom made suit that fits you like a glove.
E, Thank you for the best relic body I have ever seen! Hal B. NYC
Eric, All I can say is what an absolutely beautiful looking and sounding guitar. It was worth the wait. I made some adjustments and have not put it down since. Thank You! Randy (Sonic Blue Double Bound)
Hey Eric, Wow!!!! You're the man!! The body is perfect. Exactly the amount of relicing I was looking for. I have spent most of this year looking at relic jobs and I have to say your work looks the most authentic I have seen. Kudos to you!!
This is the first time I have ever written a letter to tell someone how good their product is, but I was so impressed with the quality and workmanship of my Revelator guitar body and neck that I just had to tell you. I am a vintage guitar collector so I know how they should look and feel. Eric you nailed it!! After I assembled the parts it was very difficult to tell the difference between your guitar and my real ’53 Tele! Keep up the great work. You will have another order from me soon, a Strat this time. Hal, New York
Eric, GREAT body...awesome and worth the wait. I have a beautiful Allparts relic "boat" neck with a vintage late 50's decal and medium frets (a bender's dream), relic'd kluson tuners, relic neckplate with a late 50's serial number and a relic vintage bridge with aged brass saddles. The bridge will take a SD Broadcaster and the neck will get a late 60's Gibson Pat Pend humbucker (sorry to cut, but I need a humbucker in there). Keep up the FANTASTIC work and God Bless you and your loved ones. Yours, George Jones
Hey Eric, I received the neck in the mail today. The neck is ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL. Thanks so much for your care and precision. I hope to do business again in the near future! Thanks again!, Mark
I ordered blonde T58 from Eric at Revelator Guitar Works and requested a medium relic job. I really didn't want anything over the top, just something that looked like it had been well loved and used for about 45 years. The body that Eric produced is stunning. The attention to detail and the authentic relic job is the best I have seen. For the record, I have looked at many examples from various builders over the last year and have never been totally satisfied with the authenticity of the relic work. The body from Eric far surpasses anything else, period. The body is light swamp ash with correct routings, shape etc. The thin nitro blonde finish is also applied perfectly. The real highlight of this body is the relic work. Eric has really nailed a subtle checking technique combined with a great over sprayed yellowing effect. The various chips and scuffs are very natural and not overdone at all! Eric is a great guy to work with. He instinctively new what I was looking for based on a brief description I provided to him. I prefer to work via email and Eric was always quick to respond. All in all, a great experience. Highly recommended. D. Poole
E, The guitar arrived safely and it looks like you really delivered the goods this time. That's one big mother of a neck. Nice job on the neck it looks terrific. I haven't had much time to play it yet but everyhing looks good and the guitar sounds killer. It looks and plays great. I'll give a full report after I've had a chance to play it for a while. Thanks again for correcting the issues I had with it. Not everybody will stand behind their work like that. Talk to you soon. Thanks again, (Name withheld to protect the innocent) PART 2 E, I wanted to drop you a quick note for an ego booster. I just got Vinetto BG50 Artifact # ** a couple of hours ago. Very nice extremely lightweight guitar but it doesn't have anywhere near the same well played broken in "vibe" that your E~Type has. Hard to describe but it still has that Fender Custom Shop feel to it. Nice but not authentic. Getting the right feel on the neck is so important I think to building an outstanding relic. You and of course Jonathan Wilson are the only ones who seem to have gotten this right and I've tried a lot of them. It's hard to replicate the feel of a real 50 year old neck. I still have my original 52 Esquire and have owned several 50's and early 60's Teles. I know what they feel like. I'm not knocking the Vinetto. It's a smokin' instrument but as far as authenticity goes I think you've got him beat hands down. Thanks again, (Name withheld to protect the innocent) |
