Eric, I wanted to give you a little more feedback on the T~Caster I purchased a couple of months ago. After a long interlude, I'm playing with some others again. Not a band, per se, but more of a weekly get together. Anyway, I've been trying to take 2 different guitars every week to get a feel for the tone difference in a live setting vs. my basement. What it has turned into, though, is the Revelator T~Caster and something else. This guitar is head and shoulders above everything else I own, (and I own some nice ones), and is my number 1. Everything from clean rockabilly to out and out rock and roll, this guitar can nail. Today, I started with my Gretsch Silver Jet (which sounded great). About halfway through practice, I switched to the Revelator, and it just picked it up a notch. The bass player commented on how much he loved the sound of the Revelator, as did everyone else. It's just a phenomenal guitar! Any time you need to give my name directly to a potential customer, you can feel free to do so. Thanks again! Greg Curry

Hey E, It's wonderful. How you do what you do is beyond me! It plays and sounds like a dream. Bart A. Nashville (2nd Revelator purchase)

WOW!... Just did another gig with the frusciante guitar. Are all of your guitars this good?! Andrew Campbell

Hi Eric, Thought I would drop you a line now that I have had an opportunity to put the guitar through the paces. First off I did adjust the action (higher to my liking.....after the adjustments the guitar plays and sounds like a dream. The Lollar Al 3 pickups sound amazing as I expected. The overall weight and balance is great, as in featherweight. Overall VERY pleased. Keep up the good work. Regards, Bill,........
Oh yeah,. the guitar floored my bandmates at practice the other night!

Eric, I just had the chance to really put the tele through the paces. After a long search, I believe that I finally found an amp that has the voice that I like, a Carr Mercury. So I'm just now able to play and hear the Revelator in an environment that can give me the sound that I prefer. All I can say is WOW. It sounds just like a 50 year old tele should. The lollars are perfectly balanced and sound wonderful. The middle position is pure ecstasy. Everything is there, the sound, look, feel, vibe, mojo, whatever you want to call it. Perfect. You should be proud. I have always loved teles and have been through several over the years, Fenders, small builders, bigger builders, etc. Nothing I've owned has even come close. I'm sure there is a vintage tele out there that may equal the Revelator, but I'll never find it, my search is over. This is the one. I guess I'm fortunate that this one came available and was designed exactly how I would have designed it had I custom ordered it. Thanks for building such an incredible guitar. Greg

Hey E, Well she came today and she looks fantastic & plays beautifully. I couldn’t imagine anything playing better. I played all weekend something that didn't make my wife too happy but I was more than pleased. I haven't put her down yet. She is wonderful! I Have been playing the heck out of her & she's probably the best and easiest playing guitar I've ever owned. I showed her to one of the guys I work with and he said there is no way to tell this isn't the real deal. Thanks for making my dream guitar,.....Thanks for everything. Ryan W (Frusciante S~Caster)

E, I just my T*Caster for three hours and I have to tell you it's the best guitar I've played in years. It feels just like the old vintage guitars that I lost. It just flat screams. Its resonates and feels so good. It's just perfect. Thank you Eric and God bless, Randy Knight

E, The S*Caster you made for me is absolutely beautiful and plays like a dream. Couldn't have asked for anything better! Thanks so very much! Barry

Got my 54S and 61T from Revelator and these guitars are unreal good! The vibe, the feel and the tone.....its all there in spades! I've had my share of vintage Strats and Teles over the years and my Revelators stack up with the best of em! E is not only a great craftsman but a fine person too! I couldn't be any happier! Thanks again E. Best Regards Bob DelRosso

OH MY GOODNESS!!!!!! those pickups look REAL! That is UnREAL!....cant wait to pick her up and take her for a spin! Thanks for your unrelenting attention to detail! Your the best E. Bob D.

Hey E, All I can say is AWESOME !!!! I couldn't have hoped for anything better. You are a miracle worker! Thanks again E
M.T. from NY

Hey…Eric…I got the guitar Friday and now I’m in great shape. I love the body, real nice work, I love the neck, fat but just right. Your work is excellent, the way it’s aged but not overdone…. it plays and sounds great….. I want to thank you for the beautiful guitar. Jim S.

I just took delivery yesterday of the Mary Kaye Strat on that website. First impressions: Gorgeous guitar and a wonderfully authentic relic job! Joe P.

Hi E... Oh brother, this is one of the liveliest guitars I’ve ever played. The notes seem to jump out with a snap and punch that I’ve never before experienced on other T~ styles. It reminds me of the first time I plugged into a class A amp...you know the feel is just right. Even though it took awhile I guess the saying "good things come to those who wait" applies here. I would and will do it again. Thanks for sharing your gift, Sean

Hi there! Awesome guitar! Is the body home-made? What a righteous finish and relic job! Dave

Hi my name is Craig and I am in the UK....I have had a guy build a Broadcaster and 61 Strat for me in the last 2 years and I came across your web-site....in particular the 50's S~Type that you have recently posted pics of...... Well all I can say is that I haven't slept properly for 2 nights just thinking about that guitar...I was going to place an order later this year for a similar model and well.....your's has blown me away. Do you ship to the Uk? What joy you must be bringing to people with your guitars...I have only looked at your site!! Regards, Craig

Good Morning. I've been a vintage Fender player for years and use them touring with the gospel group I play in..I think it's time to retire the old guys...your guitar looks perfect. God Bless you, Ed

Hello Eric; I have your 1st 53 tele body that you made for yourself. I'm glad to have it,its light weight, sounds great, looks fantastic. Now to the Mary Kay, I can only imagine how sweet it is. Thanks Ray

Beautiful looking Strat E. To all you lookers out there, I own the Shell Pink Tele on E's site. Revelator makes them right. My Revelator Tele feels, plays, sounds, looks & even smells like a well played vintage guitar from California. Eric is an artist & a great guy to know. Someone is going to be very happy. God Bless Revelator Guitars. strat62555

Mighty E. Got the Tele body earlier this week, but did not get a chance to open up the package until last night. Yes, the stun-o-meter blew right through the top! This body looks like something that Fender built in the late fifties or early sixties. And I have to jokingly ask – is this thing hollowed out basswood!? Just kidding. I know it’s Swamp Ash. That is the lightest body I have ever felt. I am going to find a perfect neck for it, and then freak out all my guitar buds. No one is going to believe me that it isn’t an orig 50s/60s guitar. My man, you are THE STUFF !!!! I can’t say enough good about your dedication to the “old school” techniques and quality. I am already saving my $ for another perfect body. No need to apologize for the wait. Truthfully, I would have worried if the body would have been done when originally promised. I like the fact that you take your time and don’t let this stuff out the door until it is just right. Those are the true “craftsmen” that I search hi and low for! Regards, Joe Murillo Scottsdale AZ

Features: 10 I was looking for a 2 tone S-type that was aged, but not dragged behind a truck or belt sanded. A realistic looking 50's instument that had been played, but was well taken care of. the features on the body are: lightweight swamp ash with 54 specs, a beautiful 2 tone sunburst in vintage nitro, a 50's fat back neck with 9.5 radius, all aged to perfection. the neck is very comfortable, and the 9.5 radius seems better for bends than the 7.25. Sound: 10 I installed Lindy Fralin Vintage hots. In my opinion, the best sounding pickups I've heard so far. Plenty of rich tone, no ice pick, nice quack, etc, etc. All you could ask for in a vintage style pickup. Action, Fit, & Finish: 10 A perfect job in all the routes, contours, and neck pocket. Amazing work! The finish is superb! The aging is done just right. Way more realistic than even some factory custom shop jobs I've seen. A nice 2 tone burst on the body in thin nitrocellulose, and a really nice thin finish on the neck. I purchased the hardware separately, and upon assembly, everything fit perfectly and set up very well. Reliability/Durability: 10 The neck and body bolted up perfectly. Nice and tight with no additional shims or adjustments needed. judging by the intial set up, I would expect years of trouble free playing! Customer Support: 10 Eric at Revelator is one of the friendliest, most helpful people I've done business with. He is a true artist, and a professional! Very helpful, knowledgeable, and seems to have an extra sense of what you are looking for, even through just e-mails. He gets it! Overall Rating: 10 My experience with Revelator Guitars was excellent overall. One suggestion I have for potential customers...Be Patient! If you need a guitar tomorrow, go to your local guitar store and pick one up. But if you are looking for a true one-of-a kind instrument that looks and plays like a true 50's or 60's classic, you can not go wrong by contacting Eric at Revelator Guitar Works.

E, Just wanted to thank you for two beautifully crafted axes and I look forward to more doing biz w/ you. Hope you are doing well. I love both of these things for different reasons. Man, they play better every day! Thanks Again!!!! Nigel P.

The ’55 “S” that Eric built for me is by far the best “S” that I’ve ever played. This guitar is a birthday present to myself, since I was born in ’55 and wanted to reward myself for making it this long. I asked for some personally preferred specs, such as a fat neck, 0.86 thick at the first fret. stainless steel 6105 frets, 9.5 radius, a sunburst finish without too much black on the edges, and a one-piece swamp ash body with nice grain. I even sent him a few pics of some genuine 55’s that had the look I was after. I wanted the guitar to look like it belonged to someone that only played it once a week for the last 50 years, with light aging. I decided that I would naturally provide the neck and elbow wear over the years to come. I provided the pickups that Benny at Truetone make for me, hand wound just like they did in ’55, to get that chimey vintage tone I couldn’t get out of other "S" guitars I had previously owned. When the guitar arrived, after I opened the box and dug through all the styrofoam eggs and bubble wrap, I was totally floored. The finish had exactly the look that I wanted, the hardware looked just right, the swamp ash grain looked great, and the neck joint was super tight. I was even more amazed after I took it out of the box and plugged it in to my ’63 Princeton. It’s very light and resonant, the setup and fret work are right on the money and the tone is as vintage and chimey as you could possibly get, with tons of natural sustain. Check out the photos on his website, http://www.revelatorguitarworks.com/1955burststratocasterZ.html they don’t do justice to this beauty. I have to thank Eric for all the work he did in building my dream guitar. He paid attention to every detail, and kept in touch with me throughout the process to make sure it turned out right. The price was much less than one would expect to pay for a custom built guitar of this quality. Eric is a true artist and a gentleman, he is like a master tailor making you a custom made suit that fits you like a glove.

E, Thank you for the best relic body I have ever seen! Hal B. NYC

Eric, All I can say is what an absolutely beautiful looking and sounding guitar. It was worth the wait. I made some adjustments and have not put it down since. Thank You! Randy (Sonic Blue Double Bound)

E, The body is fantastic! Can't believe how light it is. The aging job is very convincing, not at all cheesy like my '51 Fender Relic. Can't wait to get it put together. Great job, and definitely worth the wait! Jack S.

Hey Eric, Wow!!!! You're the man!! The body is perfect. Exactly the amount of relicing I was looking for. I have spent most of this year looking at relic jobs and I have to say your work looks the most authentic I have seen. Kudos to you!!

Hello E, I'm playing it right now !! Already feel like I’m at home! Incredible tone through my 72 Deluxe Reverb...,sustain forever. Will never play another guitar !! Michel from France

This is the first time I have ever written a letter to tell someone how good their product is, but I was so impressed with the quality and workmanship of my Revelator guitar body and neck that I just had to tell you. I am a vintage guitar collector so I know how they should look and feel. Eric you nailed it!! After I assembled the parts it was very difficult to tell the difference between your guitar and my real ’53 Tele! Keep up the great work. You will have another order from me soon, a Strat this time. Hal, New York

Here 'tis !!!!! Even earlier than expected !!!!! Almost already mounted... perfect relicing!

Eric, GREAT body...awesome and worth the wait. I have a beautiful Allparts relic "boat" neck with a vintage late 50's decal and medium frets (a bender's dream), relic'd kluson tuners, relic neckplate with a late 50's serial number and a relic vintage bridge with aged brass saddles. The bridge will take a SD Broadcaster and the neck will get a late 60's Gibson Pat Pend humbucker (sorry to cut, but I need a humbucker in there). Keep up the FANTASTIC work and God Bless you and your loved ones. Yours, George Jones

Hey Eric, I received the neck in the mail today. The neck is ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL. Thanks so much for your care and precision. I hope to do business again in the near future! Thanks again!, Mark

I ordered blonde T58 from Eric at Revelator Guitar Works and requested a medium relic job. I really didn't want anything over the top, just something that looked like it had been well loved and used for about 45 years. The body that Eric produced is stunning. The attention to detail and the authentic relic job is the best I have seen. For the record, I have looked at many examples from various builders over the last year and have never been totally satisfied with the authenticity of the relic work. The body from Eric far surpasses anything else, period. The body is light swamp ash with correct routings, shape etc. The thin nitro blonde finish is also applied perfectly. The real highlight of this body is the relic work. Eric has really nailed a subtle checking technique combined with a great over sprayed yellowing effect. The various chips and scuffs are very natural and not overdone at all! Eric is a great guy to work with. He instinctively new what I was looking for based on a brief description I provided to him. I prefer to work via email and Eric was always quick to respond. All in all, a great experience. Highly recommended. D. Poole

Greetings from Otto, Denmark Hey E!, I got the body today .... you are the man .... It's perfect, better than I thought it would be, and the colour is perfect! Good job man! Perfectly reliced too! Highly recommended

E, The T~Caster is great....used it last night and got nothing but compliments...Bob

Hello E, These are the finest relic necks I have ever seen. You are a true artist! Thanks and God bless, Hal

Hello Mighty E, I'm e-mailing you because I finally got the strat project together. I must say that it looks fantastic. You did a wonderful job of aging the body and neck. It is way more realistic looking than any I've seen. The fatback neck is perfect...extremely comfortable. The body looks and feels like a real '50's fender. The finish is absolutely stunning. I put Fralin vintage hot pickups under the hood, and I'm sure glad I did. They have that creamy Strat sound and plenty of quack. They sound great! I could not have asked for a better outcome from this project. Again, Thanks so much for everything, and I hope to be in touch soon for another project. Thanks, Barry PART 1
E, The guitar arrived safely and it looks like you really delivered the goods this time. That's one big mother of a neck. Nice job on the neck it looks terrific. I haven't had much time to play it yet but everyhing looks good and the guitar sounds killer. It looks and plays great. I'll give a full report after I've had a chance to play it for a while. Thanks again for correcting the issues I had with it. Not everybody will stand behind their work like that. Talk to you soon. Thanks again, (Name withheld to protect the innocent)
PART 2
E, I wanted to drop you a quick note for an ego booster. I just got Vinetto BG50 Artifact # ** a couple of hours ago. Very nice extremely lightweight guitar but it doesn't have anywhere near the same well played broken in "vibe" that your E~Type has. Hard to describe but it still has that Fender Custom Shop feel to it. Nice but not authentic. Getting the right feel on the neck is so important I think to building an outstanding relic. You and of course Jonathan Wilson are the only ones who seem to have gotten this right and I've tried a lot of them. It's hard to replicate the feel of a real 50 year old neck. I still have my original 52 Esquire and have owned several 50's and early 60's Teles. I know what they feel like. I'm not knocking the Vinetto. It's a smokin' instrument but as far as authenticity goes I think you've got him beat hands down. Thanks again, (Name withheld to protect the innocent)
